A Name Rooted in History

Who was she?

The name Valmarie finds its origin in the youngest daughter of Emperor Francis Joseph, Archduchess Marija Valerija, who was born in 1868 during the negotiations of the Croatian-Hungarian settlement. The very street that our restaurant and hotel inhabit was named in her honor. Although the street may have changed over time, the legacy of history remains palpable and is preserved within the name of our restaurant: Valmarie.
